How to Reach by Air: Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is the nearest to Pangong Lake which is located at a distance of approx 222 km which would take you around 7-8 hrs to reach. Leh airport is well connected by direct and indirect flights from all the major cities of India. 

How to Reach by Road: To reach Pangong Tso, you must first reach Leh via the National Highway (NH 1) which connects the Manali-Leh Highway or Srinagar to Leh. Wondering how to reach Pangong Valley from Leh? There are three routes which can take you to Pangong Tso from Leh;
  • via Karu-Chang La Pass

How to Reach by Train:  As Leh doesn’t have its own railway station, the nearest to Pangong Tso would be Jammu Tawi Railway Station located at a distance of 904 km. It would be a long route, so it is advisable to travel either by air or road.

You can board a connecting flight from Mumbai to Leh covering a duration of approx 7 hrs. Your first halt would be in Delhi. Upon reaching Leh, you can book a taxi to reach Pangong Tso covering a distance & duration of 222km/ 7-8 hrs. 

How to reach Pangong Tso from Manali: 

When planning to visit Pangong Tso from Manali, you can board a bus from Manali to Leh that is run by both HRTC and HPTDC on Manali to Leh Highway covering a distance & duration of approx 427 km/ 11-12 hrs. From Leh bus stand, you can book a taxi to reach Pangong Tso covering a distance & duration of 222km/ 7-8 hrs.

How to reach Pangong Tso  from Chandigarh: 

By Air: Board a flight to New Delhi from Chandigarh and then to Leh from Delhi. From Leh airport, you can book a private/shared taxi to reach Pangong Tso.

Delhi to Leh: 1.5 hours
Leh to Pangong Tso: 7-8 hrs 

By Road: There are frequent direct buses that run between Chandigarh and Manali covering a distance & duration of 304 km/ 8-9 hrs. From Manali, you can either drive your own vehicle to reach Pangong Tso or board a bus run by both HRTC and HPTDC on Manali to Leh Highway covering a distance & duration of approx  427 km/ 11-12 hrs. From Leh, hire a taxi to reach Pangong Tso. 

How to reach Pangong Tso from Pune: 

Board a connecting flight from Mumbai airport to Leh which would take around 6-7 hrs. From Leh, you can book a private/shared taxi to reach Pangong Tso. If you are up for a bike ride, rent a bike in Leh and head to Pangong Tso for an experience unlike any other. 

How to reach Pangong Tso from Kolkata: 

You have to take a connecting flight from Kolkata to Leh which would take around 6-7 hrs. The halt would be at Delhi Airport. From Leh, book a private/shared taxi to reach Pangong Tso, or if you wish to bike a ride, rent one in Leh. 

How to reach Pangong Tso from Bangalore: 

Board a flight from Banglore to New Delhi and then fly to Leh from Delhi. From Leh airport, you can book a private/shared taxi to reach Pangong Tso or take an adventure-filled bike ride.
