How to Reach by Air: The nearest airport to Alchi Monastery is Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport located at a distance & duration of 66km/ 1hr 28 min. Take a shared/private taxi, or hire a jeep or bike to reach Alchi monastery.
How to Reach by Road: To reach Alchi Monastery, reach Leh via the National Highway (NH 1) which connects the Manali-Leh Highway or the Srinagar to Leh. From Leh take a shared/private taxi, or rent a bike to reach Alchi Monastery in no time.
How to Reach by Train: As Leh doesn’t have its own railway station, the nearest to Alchi Monastery would be Jammu Tawi Railway Station located at a distance of approx 628 km. It is advisable to travel either by air or road as it will take a lot of time to reach from Jammu Tawi railway station to Alchi Monastery.

By Air: Board a flight from Chandigarh airport to Leh covering a duration of 1 hr 10min. Upon reaching Leh, take a taxi to reach Alchi Monastery which would take you another 1hr 28 min.
By Road: Board a bus that runs between Chandigarh and Manali covering a distance & duration of 304 km/ 8-9 hrs. From Manali, you can either take a bus operated by both HRTC and HPTDC or drive your own vehicle to reach Alchi Monastery
Board a connecting flight to Leh via Delhi which would take a duration of approx 7-8 hrs. And from Leh, you can either take a taxi or bike to reach Alchi Monastery at your convenience.
