Travelling from Kolkata to Leh Ladakh by air would be the fastest and the most convenient way to reach Leh Ladakh from Kolkata. Leh’s Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport has connecting flights from Kolkata via New Delhi. Upon reaching Leh, you can either take a shared or private taxi to reach the desired destination in the shortest possible time. Kolkata to Ladakh distance by flight would be approx 1662 km.
Well, this would be a long route, but if Kolkata to Leh Ladakh by road trip is what you are willing to take, here you go. There are two routes to travel to Leh Ladakh from the road- one is from Manali and the other from Srinagar. But first, you have to reach Delhi or Chandigarh by flight or rail from Kolkata, and then board a bus to Manali or take a cab. From Delhi, the distance and duration would be 536km/ 14-15hrs, and from Chandigarh, it would take around 304km/ 8-9hrs. From Manali, regular buses are run by both HRTC and HPTDC on the Manali-Leh Highway covering a distance & duration of approx 427 km/ 11-12 hrs.
