The cost of the bike tour would depend largely on your preference for stay and food. Leh Ladakh region, though not a very expensive location does have few luxurious options. Whether you want this to be a budget journey or a lavish one, it is entirely up to you. Besides, this is the cost of the day journey, including the bike rent (if not riding your own), fuel, lunch, and maintenance cost. All this for the duration of you 8 to 10 days trip planned could be between INR 20k to INR 70k.

Stay budget – INR 200 to INR 5,000
Based on your comfort preference, you can opt for accommodation in either a roadside tent or a proper hotel structure or homestay. This is highly subjective to the route you are taking and the location as well. For example, tents are available on the Manali Leh highway ranging from INR 200 to INR 1,000. At Jispa village or Baralacha Pass, you will find stay, including dinner for as low as INR 250 whereas at Sarchu it would cost INR 1,000.

Fuel budget – INR 9,500 to INR 10,500
On average, a bike tour of Leh Ladakh is likely to cover a total distance of around 2600kms to 2800 km. Assuming your bike trip itinerary falls in this range, then you should safely account for the said budget. Fuel consumption is dependent on the condition of the bike and the terrain you are riding on. In Ladakh, the mileage of the bike is lower by almost 50% of the usual average.
While riding in Ladakh, it is best to be self-sufficient, and to that extent, it helps to be equipped with basic spare parts such as spark plug, clutch plates, brake lever, headlight bulb, clutch cable etc. You may want to keep a budget of an additional amount of INR 2,000 for this.
It is also advisable to invest in good protective riding gear for this trip such as helmet, knee and elbow guards, weatherproof gloves, shoes and proper riding jacket, reflective clothing, sunglasses etc. Also, carry a sleeping bag for roadside camping if needed.
