The festival is celebrated in the month of September every year. Last year, it was held between; 18th to 24th of September 2017.

Continues for almost two weeks, Ladakh festival introduces you to the unforgettable experience. During the festival, numbers of activities are organized such as archery contest, costume dances, masked dances, and polo matches. Different kinds of stalls are organized to sell unique craft items to visitors and locals. Tourists can taste local cuisine as the food stalls are also settled by locals. Several cultural troops come from the different places of the region in the inauguration ceremony in Leh. The ceremony traverses through the local market of Leh. People look so beautiful in the traditional colourful dresses they wear on this occasion.
