Overview
Best of silk route - Eight days from Leh to Leh, this package takes you through the silk route of the land of high passes, best touch to Turtuk Village, experience the turtle cultural Ladakh. Before starting on the expedition through the historical route, visit the stupa, palace and markets in Leh. In a short group of up to 12 people, or as a couple/solo traveller, this package will take you to Khardong-la at 18,380ft, Sumoor and Deskit, to sand dunes of cold desert, beautiful village of Turtu.
Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Leh
Arrival at Leh in the morning and then transfer to the hotel. Take complete rest for the day for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft./3500 m). Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2 Leh - City tour
Free day at Leh for rest. In the afternoon, visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa, Leh Palace and the markets. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 3 Leh - Nubra Valley
After breakfast leave for the Nubra Valley, driving across the Khardung La pass (altitude: 18,380 ft.). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing at Sumoor. Visit/explore Diskit, Hundar and the sand dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari on the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional activity on direct payment). Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Diskit for an overnight stay at a camp.

Day 4 Nubra Valley - Turtuk sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to the Turtuk valley - a beautiful village situated in the border area. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and rich culture of the Turtuk valley. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 5 Nubra - Leh
After breakfast, you can visit the Diskit monastery and then drive back to Leh via the same route. In the evening, reach Leh. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 6 Leh - Pangong Tso Lake (150 km)
Early departure for Pangong Tso Lake (approximately 145 km, located on the Indo-China border), via the Chang La pass (altitude: 17370 ft). After an entire day of sightseeing around the lake, check-in at fixed tent camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive back for 30 km to Tangtse and check into a hotel/guest house for overnight stay.

Day 7 Pangong-Hemis/Thiksey-Leh (165 km)
After breakfast, leave Pangong/Tangtse and get back on the Leh route across Chang La. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Later, drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Hemis and Thiksey monasteries. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 8 Drop to Leh Airport
Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home. The tour ends here.

- Wildlife fee for Lake, Pangong Lake and areas which are protected wildlife sanctuaries in Ladakh.
- Inner line permit for restricted areas of Pangong areas (Guest are required to bring one a photocopy of their photo identity proof along with them).
- Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh Environment fee (Students should bring their school ID).
- All applicable taxes.
