HIMALAYAN ESCAPE

Welcome to Manali. You will do some local sightseeing in Manali, and walk around the local market. Overnight stay in Manali.

You will start your wonderful journey to Ladakh with an overnight stop over at Jispa - a beautiful place with rivers and hills (altitude: 4253 m). During the drive, you will go through the Rohtang Pass (3978 m) to enter the Lahaul Valley. You will have lunch at Keylong (3350 m).

After breakfast, you will drive to Sarchu (a 5-hour drive) by crossing the Baralacha Pass (4890 m) - a beautiful drive on high altitudes to be remembered for a lifetime. Stay overnight in Sarchu at a camp.

After breakfast, proceed to Tso Moriri via Nakeela, Lachung La Pass (16,617 ft), Sky Angchu Thang (the biggest and highest plateau in the world - 42 km) and Pang. Admire the beautiful scenic journey on the Manali Leh Highway (considered to be the most beautiful road in the world). Cross the Tanglang La pass and reach Tso Moriri in the evening. Overnight stay in Tso Moriri.

After early breakfast, you will drive to Pangong Tso Lake (via Tsaga La or from Kharu), which is the highest salt water lake in the world and is shared by two countries, India and China. On arrival, check in to the camp. Enjoy the turquoise coloured panoramic lake and the sunset on the banks of lake with magnificent mountains as the backdrop. Stay overnight in Pangong.

Early morning, you can enjoy the picturesque view of the sunrise at the lake. After breakfast, you will leave for the Nubra Valley via the Shayok river. The duration of this drive is roughly 5 hours and you will arrive at the Nubra valley in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in Nubra.

After breakfast, visit Diskit Monastery and have a wonderful view of Nubra Valley. Later, drive to the Diskit Monastery and back to Leh, crossing the Khardung La Pass - world?s highest motorable road. Stay overnight in Leh.

Enjoy the breakfast at the hotel and then take rest for the remainder of the day. Overnight stay in Leh.

In the morning, drive towards the west of Leh and explore the miniature paintings in the Alchi Monastery. The foundation stone of Alchi Monastery was laid sometime back in 990 A.D. En route, drive past Magnetic Hall, Military Hall of Fame and the confluence of the Indus and the Zanskar rivers at Nimoo. Stay overnight at the hotel in Kargil

After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed to Srinagar, driving through Drass (famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world) and crossing the Zoji La Pass (11,500 ft./3,505 m) to reach the Sonamarg hill station, from where it's smooth driving through the beautiful Kashmir countryside to reach Srinagar. Overnight stay at a hotel in Srinagar.

The tour ends and you will be transferred to the Srinagar airport. Return back home with all the beautiful and memorable memories.
