Ladakh Backpacking Trip

Arrival to Manali and evening explore in Manali. Today explore the Manali local sightseeing, and walk around the local market. Overnight stay at Manali hotel.

Today we will start our wonderful journey to explore the beauty of Ladakh, with an overnight stop over at Jispa. Watch beautiful places with the river, hills (4253 m). During the drive, we cross through the Rohtang Pass (3978 m) and enter to Lahaul Valley, lunch at Keylong (3350 m).

Post breakfast we start driving to Sarchu, 5hours drive via crossing Baralacha la Pass (4890m), a beautiful drive on high altitude to be remembered for a lifetime. Stay overnight in Sarchu at camp. Pass through Nakeela and Lachangla Pass 16,617 ft. Lunch at Pang. After Lunch drive to Leh passing through Skyangchu Thang (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Earth on Stretch of 42 Kms), Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft 2nd highest motorable road in the world and Indus Valley. Reach Upshi where you drive along with Indus River. On arrival at Leh check in to the Hotel. Stay overnight in Leh.

Today is a free day and you can explore the local market, and acclimatize properly and enjoy the me-time.

After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Post-lunch, enjoy the camel safari at Sand Dunes between Diskit & Hundur Village. O/N Nubra Valley. ?

One of the most fascinating journeys in Ladakh, this is a less popular destination recently opened for tourists. If you have a thirst for a beautiful location this is the place. En route spectacular mountain ranges and Villages. This region is controlled mainly by the Ladakh Scouts, a rear department of the India Army. A border village that was recaptured by the Indian Army in 1971. Locals have relatives across the border (Line of Control) and depend mainly on farming of vegetables, apricot besides providing mules and porters. Baltistan a beautiful village with charming people ?On the night of December 13, 1971, the people of this village went to sleep in Pakistan. The next morning, they woke up in India.? We are in Turtuk, listening to a villager recount the history of this remote northwest corner of Ladakh, which until that night was part of Baltistan in PoK. A full day of rough excursion. You will come back to Nubra Valley by the evening. Overnight stay at the camp in Nubra Valley.

After Breakfast visit Diskit Monastery (Big Buddha), where you can have a magnificent view of Nubra Valley and later drive to Pangong via Shyok river with amazing landscape, adventure. Stop for lunch at Durbuk and continue for 1 hr drive to Pangong lake. Enjoy the Pangong lake with stargazing at night.

In the early morning enjoy the picturesque view of Sunrise on the lake. After Breakfast drive back to Leh, en route visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. Our driver will drop you at Leh market where you will explore yourself. Later on, the car will leave you to service station.

In the morning, drive towards the west of Leh and explore the miniature paintings of Alchi Monastery. The foundation stone of Alchi Monastery was laid sometime back in 990 A.D. En route, drive past Magnetic Hill, Military Hall of Fame and the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River at Nimaling. Stay overnight at the hotel in Alchi.

After breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Srinagar driving through Drass (famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world) and crossing the Zoji-La Pass (11,500-ft. / 3,505 m) to reach hill station of Sonamarg from where it's a smooth drive through the beautiful Kashmir countryside to reach Srinagar. Overnight at a hotel at Srinagar.

Today the tour will end and you will be transferred to Leh airport. Return back with all the beautiful and memorable memories of Leh.
